RANDOLPH COUNTY, MO. -- A Moberly man is headed to prison for his part in a brutal kidnapping and assault.

A Randolph County jury convicted Sean Williams of being an accessory to kidnapping and first-degree assault, forcible sodomy and forcible rape in connection with a disturbing crime in which a woman was kidnapped, and held in a deep freezer between assaults.

According to court documents, the crime happened last year when Williams helped kidnap a 22-year-old victim at a Moberly hotel and took her to an abandoned basement.

Prosecutors said the woman was beaten, trapped in an old deep freezer and raped.

Williams and another woman beat and assaulted her and trapped her in the deep freezer. Click here to read more about how the victim survived the freezer.

The woman eventually escaped.

Three other co-defendants have pleaded guilty to various charges. Click here to read more from ABC17.

Williams will be sentenced May 3.
