HANCOCK COUNTY, ILL. -- The history of Hancock County sports soon will take the national spotlight. The Smithsonian Institute created a travelling exhibit called "Hometown Teams."

Hancock County was approved to be a part of this exhibit in February. Each major community in the county will create an exhibit focused on the history of local sports teams.

A committee in each community was elected to research the history of sports around the area.

The National Smithsonian Exhibit comes to Hancock County on November first in 2014 and stays until December 14th.
