Avon teenagers injured in one-car crash in Warren County

WARREN COUNTY, ILL. -- Police say two teenagers, ages 14 and 15, from Avon, Illinois, were injured in a crash Saturday night after both were ejected from the car.

The Illinois State Police reports, the two were headed westbound on 23rd Avenue at 170th St., in Warren County, when the vehicle left the roadway and overturned. The two juveniles were not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, which occurred at 11:36 p.m. Saturday.

The passenger, age 15, was transported by ambulance to St. Mary's Hospital in Galesburg and the driver, age 14, was flown to OSF St. Francis in Peoria.

The driver was charged with Fleeing and Eluding, No Valid Driver's License, Failure to Wear a Seat Belt by a Driver and other traffic offenses.

Police are investigating whether or not the vehicle, a 1998 Dodge Club Cab 4-door Pick-up, was stolen.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Warren County Sheriff's Department, Avon Police Department, GHAS Ambulance Service, Roseville Fire and Rescue, Bushnell-Prairie City Fire and Rescue, Avon Fire Department and Life Flight.
