There's a new way to keep family members with Alzheimers safe.
It's called Project Lifesaver and here's how it works.
Individuals with Alzheimer's, Autism, Down Syndrome and other related illnesses and disabilities get an electronic band on their wrist or ankle.
That band will allow them to be tracked and located if they wander off or become lost.
Detective Thomas Liesen with the Quincy police Department said, "When someone disappears time is of the essence because they can walk and get pretty far away. With kids people can pick them up and with Alzheimers patients, the longer they're away the less their chances of survival."
