Early morning train versus car accident

CAMP POINT, ILL. -- A man from Golden, Illinois died from injuries he sustained in a train versus truck accident near Central High School early Thursday morning.

Kristopher Hunt, 45, was prounounced dead at the scene of the crash at 6:20 a.m.

The accident occurred at a railroad crossing at North 2150th Avenue and 2200th Street near Highway 94.

Another BNSF train was stopped in Camp Point before it could reach the scene of the accident.

According to a release from the Adams County Sheriff's Office, the crossing arms and signal were functioning properly at the time of the crash.
