Passenger truck strikes semi near Macomb

Route 136 East of Macomb, Ill. was closed in both directions Friday following a crash involving a pickup truck and a semi, the Illinois State Police said.

The crash happened near the intersection of U.S. 163 and McDonough County Road 1800.

According to a release from the Illinois State Police, the driver of the pickup, 47-year-old John Serven Jr. of Bushnell, IL. was not wearing a seatbelt and was taken to Blessing Hospital by helicopter with life-threatening injuries.

The State Police report says the Ford F250 truck was traveling eastbound on US Route 136 at 1800E when it crossed the center line and struck the semi truck.

The passenger in that vehicle, 29- year-old Bobbie Allen of Bushnell, IL. was also not wearing a seat belt and was taken to McDonough District Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the semi truck, 40-year-old Leonard Wells of Canton, IL was wearing his seatbelt and was treated and released at McDonough District Hospital.
