Three car crash results in serious injuries

ADAMS COUNTY, ILL. -- A three car collision on Highway 57 Sunday night sent four to Blessing Hospital, two with serious injuries.

James D. Cook Jr., 31, of Canton, MO was arrested for reckless driving and improper lane usage in the crash.

Cook was driving a 2007 Chevrolet truck when he crossed the center line from his southbound lane.

He collided head-on with a northbound Hyundai car, lost control, and struck a second vehicle.

The driver and passenger of the Hyundai were transported to Blessing Hospital by ambulance. The Adams County Sheriff's Department described the driver of that vehicle's injuries as serious.

The driver and passenger of the second vehicle struck were transported to Blessing Hospital by private vehicles, the passenger sustaining serious injuries.

The crash occurred at 5:14 p.m.

Everyone involved in the crash was wearing a seatbelt.
