FRANKFORD, MO. -- If you thought it was too early for your favorite springtime treats from mother nature ... think again.

Richard Askew, a KHQA viewer, found two morel mushrooms in Quincy after looking for two hours.

According to the Hannibal Courier Post, a rural Frankford woman brought two tiny morel mushrooms into the Courier-Post newsroom Wednesday.

Her mushrooms were about the size of a quarter which makes you wonder how she saw them in the first place. The mushroom hunter says it is the earliest she has ever found mushrooms in the area.

Dodie Mason Wessel posted on KHQA's Facebook page that she, "was just wondering about going in the woods this weekend!"
