About one in ten people have some type of Diabetes -- and that number is expected to rise.

Quincy Medical Group is hosting its third annual Diabetes Awareness day Tuesday at the Kroc Center.

It's a chance for those with diabetes and family members to come get the latest information on treating the disease.

The comedy team "Do or Diabetes" will also perform.

“Even the most daunting tasks seem easier with a smile on your face! Do or Diabetes is designed to let people laugh a little bit, and recognize that they are not alone, and change is possible. We laugh about a serious topic and aim to give people a positive perspective on living life with diabetes.” Rick Davis from Do or Diabetes said in a release about the event.

The event is free and it's from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
