QUINCY, ILL. -- It's the first day of the new year and what better way to start it out than getting rid of that bloated belly that has been building up all season long.

You don't need any fancy foods for a natural detox, you can find everything in your fridge.

To get your tummy back on track, eat green foods. Green plants have chlorophyll which boost your digestive tract.

Try blending some spinach, celery, cilantro and bananas for a delicious smoothie.

You can also look to fibrous foods to keep your regular. Try grains like quinoa which is also rich in protein, minerals and vitamins ... something your especially lacking after a few New Year's Eve cocktails.

To get rid of that hangover, try anyone of these remedies, water, Powerade, coconut water or even vegetable juice.

Each will rehydrate you, replenish your vitamins, and get you back up and running.

But before you head out the door don't go for that cup of joe, instead reach for some green tea.

Coffee will just make you crash later while green tea will still give you that boost energy without the heavy withdrawal feeling.

But what you can start backing away from is the 2012 holiday season and start 2013 with a healthier you.

Just a reminder Kristen is not a doctor. She found all of these detox remedies on Pinterest, you can find them here.
