Influenza season doesn't peak until late January or later, but can often last until April
QUINCY, IL -- The wind didn't keep hundreds from swinging through John Wood Community College today for a quick poke in the arm.
The Adams County Health Department hosted its second drive-thru flu and pneumonia clinic and are calling it a success.
Jarod Welch Director of Health Protection says influenza season doesn't peak until late January or later, but can often last until April.
That's why he says the best time to receive immunization is throughout late fall and winter.
And whether you're a child, busy soccer mom, or retired grandfather this convenient clinic benefits them all.
"Well we had a lot of questions of who we're trying to benefit with this clinic specifically and it actually is a lot of folks everybody needs a flu shot, so what we're trying to do is make it as convenient as we possibly can," said Welch.
"It was worth the wait," said Willis Klossing, clinic patient from Quincy.
"Why is that?" Said Justen Arnold
"Because I had my sodie I had the radio, I was comfortable in my car and everything," said Klossing
