UPDATE -
The 29 year old Hannibal man accused of robbing the Community Credit Union and then a few minutes later carjacking a vehicle could face up to life in prison.
On Thursday, two charges of first degree robbery were filed in connection to the case.
Bond for Simpson is a cash only bond of a quarter of a million dollars.
The man arrested on Wednesday for his alleged involvement in the robbery of the United Community Credit Union in Hannibal and the forcible carjacking of an elderly Hannibal resident is 29 year old Omar J Simpson of Hannibal; formally of Quincy IL.
Simpson was arrested Wednesday morning without incident after his alleged involvement in the robbery and carjacking.
Simpson is now in the Marion County jail on a 24 hour hold pending the issuance of warrants which are expected to be filed on Thursday.
The suspect was found to have some outstanding warrants for his arrest from Marion County and Lincoln County Missouri.
The Hannibal Police Department says they were able to recover a sizable amount of cash and a handgun which is believed to have been used in the robbery of the Credit Union.
