The Iowa teenager who was abandoned under Nebraska's safe-haven law and returned home earlier this month has since run away.
OMAHA, NEB. (AP) --
The 14-year-old girl's grandparent guardians who live in Council Bluffs told authorities they left the girl at an Omaha hospital Oct. 7 to teach her a lesson. Authorities returned her home a few days later after the grandparents changed their minds.

Grandmother Diane Grund told KMTV that a counselor tried to help. The girl is now missing but called Grund to say she was going to Texas for a couple months.

Nebraska officials are planning a special legislative session to add an age limit to the safe-haven law. Two dozen kids, many of them teenagers, have been abandoned since the law took effect.
