QUINCY, IL -- One local orthodontist is doing his part to help keep kids teeth healthy and their pockets full.

For the 6th straight year Orthodontist Paul Miller is buying extra halloween candy from area kids.

He pays them $2.00 for every pound of candy they bring in.

One dollar of that money goes to the Baldwin School to help them buy a smart board to aid in the kids education.

The candy is shipped to Iraq along with some toothbrushes for US soldiers to give to children.

Over the 6 years they have shipped more than 1,800pounds of candy to Iraq and given more than $2,200 to the Baldwin school.

Today was the first day Miller was buying candy and it will continue through Thursday November, 6th.
