Blue Ryno Foundation benefit
QUINCY -- If you're a country music fan, you've probably heard of the group Shenandoah.
The groups has had 13 number one singles through the 80s and 90s.
This Monday night, you can see them live at Backwaters in Quincy.
The group has a new singer, who stopped by KHQA Friday, and Chad Douglas got the chance to visit with him.
Jimmy Yeary is fairly new to the group Shenandoah, but he's not so new to the world of Country music. He's written quite a few songs for other artists including Rascal Flatts, Clay Walker, and Darryl Worley. In fact this song (nats) is on Worley's new album, and may be released as a single. And sometime in the near future, you may Jimmy Yeary and the guys from Shenandoah back on the radio.
"We're working on some stuff. We're tossing around songs right now. We're talking to producers. We're going in to cut some stuff," says Yeary.
In the meantime, Shenandoah is staying busy traveling around the country doing shows.
"We do some rocking stuff. It's a really neat show," says Yeary.
And you'll be able to see and hear the show this Monday night at Backwaters in Quincy. Shenandoah, along with Steve Holy, Daryle Singeltary and Kevin Weldon will perform on behalf of the Blue Ryno foundation. Blue Ryno was started by retired professional baseball player Ryan Klesko. The money raised through Blue Ryno goes to help families who have children with cancer.
Why are you involved with Blue Ryno?
"It's cancer research for children. I have a ten year old daughter and I love kids. It's a great cause," says Yeary.
