QUINCY, ILL. -- Here's more on that arbitrator's ruling on 3 Quincy firefighters you first heard about Tuesday on khqa dot com and KHQA's News at 5.

The arbitrator reinstated one of the firefighters, restored another's rank with backpay but upheld the third dismissal.

That got us wondering how this will affect Quincy Fire Department's personnel and finances.

KHQA's Rajah Maples asked Chief Scott Walker about that late Wednesday afternoon.

He told me us was on his way to a meeting with the Police and Fire Commission to discuss these same issues.

The fire chief told us Sean Dean's and Bruce Oitker's positions were filled months ago, and that technically the department will have too many captains now that Mark Bigelow has been restored as a captain.

Walker says the department and the city plan to calculate costs and decide where to go from here within the next two to three days.
