More than $10,000 worth of damage
HANNIBAL -- It's been a busy Monday at the main clubhouse at Clemen's Field in Hannibal.
Crews have been cleaning up some vandalism that happened early Friday morning.
Police say a 12 and 13 year old broke into building and caused more than $10,000 in damage.
Police tell KHQA the kids shot up the walls with a nail gun, shattered several brand new toilets and urinals that were still in the box.
Security cameras caught them in the act, and they were arrested Friday afternoon.
"The main thing is when juveniles commit crimes like this, the parents will be held responsible in some form. Paretns can also be sued. People should realize they are accountable for their kids," says Captain Jim Hark with the Hannibal Police Department.
Captain Hark says this crime happened around the midnight hour, and there's nothing for kids that age to do at that hour of day, but get in trouble.
