First Bankers Trust is putting a empty Quincy landmark to good use.

This former Penn Daniels building located at 24th and Spring now houses the First Bankers Trust's Corporate Operations Center.

Officials say it houses all offices *not* related to customer care, like human resources, marketing and data processing.

More than 40 workers moved into their new digs in September.

Sue Dunseth, Vice President of Operations said, "With this building we have been able to provide better utilization of technology and also provide a more controlled work environment, not to mention enhancements in comfort of our employees to ensure efficiency."

Officials we talked to say it's helping to streamline services and easing the crowding in the bank's many branches.
