Will help abortion minded and vulnerable women
QUINCY, IL -- A local resource center will undergo some changes for the better. Care Net Pregnancy Services in Quincy provides help to pregnant women in crisis.
It also helps expecting mothers with their needs, and future planning. The agency will joins other centers across the country by converting to a medical pregnancy resource center. That means, the center will offer free ultrasounds to abortion minded women.
Executive Director for the center, Laura Willing told us that 90 percent of women who see their baby on the ultrasound are more likely to choose life. But she says this isn't about changing anyone's mind, it's about giving women enough information to make an informed decision.
"It's helping them have all the facts so they can make the best choice they can. You know, I can sit and talk to a woman for hours and days, and may never change her mind. That's not my job. My job is not to chang her mind, but my job is to giver her as much information as I cam so when she's thinking about this, she's going in with all the facts," Willing said.
Willing says this change wouldn't have been made possible without the help of Blessing Hospital. They donated the ultrasound machine. Willing says the center should be ready in a couple of weeks.
