MENDON -- A former tri-state teacher and coach has been arrested on criminal sexual abuse charges involving a student.

33 year old Geofrey Dalton was arrested yesterday in Quincy.

He was a teacher in the Mendon Unity School District from 2005 until last spring.

He also served as a football and track coach while at Unity.

He's currently a teacher in the Kansas City suburb of Harrisonville.

The charges stem from alleged conduct between Dalton and a female student in Mendon last spring.

Dalton also taught at Jacksonville Routt and the Louisiana, Missouri school system.

He has been released on bond.
