WalMart in Macomb is trying to get their liquor license for the second time.

MACOMB, IL -- WalMart in Macomb is trying to get their liquor license for the second time.

The Macomb city council turned down a similar request from Walmart 5 years ago.

A public hearing was held last night to discuss the current issue.

KHQA spoke with Ronda Roberts, a store manager at the Macomb Walmart.

She told us last nights hearing went very smooth.

She is hopeful if Walmart's request for a liquor license is granted, more business will be brought to the town.

We asked her how things were going compared to the last time WalMart tried to get their license.

"I feel like its going better," said Roberts.  "I feel like its got a little more support than it had in the past and hopefully everything will go well."

Another public hearing will be held next Monday, December 8th.

A final meeting will be held Monday December 15th, where the issue will be voted on.

But Roberts told KHQA the final decision will be up to the mayor.
