HANNIBAL, MO -- A 28 year old man from Marion County who allegedly ran an asphalt scam on a Des Moines man man last May is now in jail.

The Hannibal Police Department says they arrested James Culp last night.

Culp was wanted on a felony stealing and extortion warrant out of Polk County.

Back in May, police in Iowa said Culp and another man offered to pave a driveway for a resident and when he didn't have enough money, they drove him to the bank to get a cashiers check.

Culp is in jail waiting to be taken back to Iowa.
