Jail may be done June 1

LEE COUNTY, IA -- Progress is moving right along for the new addition to the Lee County jail.

The walls are up, and right now crews are finishing the roof.  Sheriff Buck Jones told us bad weather delayed work on the facility by about two weeks, however, the jail will be complete by June 1st.

Jones says that's 4 months sooner than expected. When the jail is complete, the next phase involves moving the inmates.

The final phase entails remodeling the current facility.
