The Quincy Public School district plans no changes to security at this time after ammunition was found at a wrestling tournament Saturday.
You'll remember a visiting student discovered 20, .22 caliber bullets on the auditorium floor where students' were storing their gym bags.
Quincy police as well as the Adams County Sheriff's Department and it's K-9 unit conducted a full search of the room, as well as all the students' bags.
No other trace of suspicious material was ever found.
We spoke with Superintendent Lonny Lemon about whether this may cause the district to re-evaluate its security at sporting events.
He told us no changes to security are planned other than what is already in place.
Lemon said, "We have security at all of our sporting events. As everyone knows if you have ever attended a Blue Devil Soccer game, football game or basketball game, we also have additional security as well as QPD security."
So far the owner of the ammunition has not been identified, but Lemon believes they were probably hunting shells that fell out of a bag on accident.
The discovery caused the wrestling tournament to be delayed 45 minutes.
