NEW YORK (AP) -- Gov. Rod Blagojevich says he realizes he'll probably soon be out of a job, but he says he won't resign because he didn't do anything wrong and doesn't want to send the wrong message to his children.
During an appearance on CBS's "The Early Show" on Tuesday, the Illinois Democrat said he doesn't want to make his daughters ashamed of their father. He added that he and his wife bought the girls a puppy over Christmas as part of efforts to help them deal with the situation.
Blagojevich is accused of trying to sell a U.S. Senate seat, of using his authority to pressure campaign contributors and of defying legislative decisions.
He's been making the rounds of the media in New York, proclaiming his innocence and criticizing the impeachment proceedings under way in Springfield.
