DES MOINES, IOWA (AP) -- A baby boy has been left at an Iowa hospital under the state's "safe haven" law.

State officials say the boy was delivered at the hospital on Tuesday and his parents said they did not want the child and did not want to be contacted about his future.

It's the 12th time the state's "safe haven" law has been used since it went into effect in 2001.

The law allows unwanted newborns 14 days old or younger to be left at any Iowa health facility with no questions asked.

Officials with the Iowa Department of Public Health says the baby was delivered full-term and is in good health. The baby will be adopted.

All the previous babies have been adopted.
