QUINCY, IL -- While the soldiers are excited to get home, their families are just as anxious to see them.

Kathy Holtschlag has a son in the 1844th.

She was the rock for many families here in the Quincy area.

She held support group meetings every month since they have been deployed.

Holtschlag was able to talk to her son every Sunday night while he was deployed.

But she says nothing will compare to Friday when he arrives back in Quincy.
