QUINCY, IL -- Many people headed outdoors with today's spring-like weather.
But for others it was inside to the Oakley Lindsay Center as the warmer temperatures put them in the mood for the upcoming camping season.
It was the 12th annual RV & Camping Show.
According to Beilstein Motors, attendence Saturday was up 20% from 2008.
The free event gave people the chance to check out the latest and newest RV and camping equipment.
About 10 area RV dealers and 6 campgrounds were on display.
We spoke to one man who just lost his job.
Even though these are tough economic times, he said it won't slow him down from hitting the open roads and heading to the deep woods.
"We've been interested in them for many years; to get us an RV and go south for the winter and travel around a little bit, and we thought it was a good opportunity to look at them today. We're getting close to that age where we're gonna be retired. I'm kind of semi retired now," said Jerry Robinson, who attended the RV show.
The RV and Camping Show continues Sunday from 11 am until 4 pm at the Civic Center.
And don't forget, it's free this year, plus there are plenty of prizes like free trips to be won.
