Two local business leaders inducted
QUINCY -- Leaders and honored guest gathered at the Ambiance Wednesday to celebrate business. Businessmen past and present were honored for their efforts of laying the foundation for the current business environment in Quincy. Five were inducted, but only two are still living. Rich Niemann Sr., chairman of the board of Niemann Foods, Inc., and Thomas A. Oakley, president and CEO of Quincy Newspapers, Inc. Both men were thrilled about the honor, but they remembered their families and those who've helped them get to where they are today.
"I'm honored, yes indeed. The people I've worked with over the years, so many of them have made so much of a difference through time. Rich Niemann and I are about the same age and we're the only living people to have been named at this point, and that's a thrill too," said Thomas Oakley.
"To follow in the footsteps of last year's class of recipients and now to be associated with the five this year, I think it's an outstanding award. I'm very honored, but I'm also humbled," said Rich Niemann Sr.
Both inductees want to see Quincy continue to succeed in every way possible. And I'm sure with more leaders like them, Quincy will continue to move forward in the right direction.
