Lights turned on at Clemons Field
HANNIBAL, MO -- Monday, February 9 was the lighting ceremony at Clemens Field.
Visitors were inside the suites at Clemens Field.
The lights were be turned on shortly after 6:00 p.m. for about 5 minutes.
Afterwards visitors were able to head inside for a tour and refreshments.
KHQA spoke with Cavemen General Manager Mark Sanders about this milestone.
"We're very excited because its one of those things...when I came by the lights, they were laying on their sides for 3 weeks," said Sanders, "and now to see those things standing up 80 feet in the air. It's one of the best lighting systems available that we can get for this type of field and its one step closer."
Sanders told KHQA workers were putting roofs on the suites Monday as well as finishing up a deck.
Grass is scheduled to go in around April.
