February Tea Guild class
QUINCY, ILL. -- February is the month we celebrate and honor our presidents.
Susan Asher of Thyme-out Tea Parties and Laurie Charity will lead the February Tea Guild class called Tea with the Presidents.
It will include lessons about the ways American presidents and their families celebrated and entertained with tea.
To honor the 200th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's birth, special attention will be paid to what a typical Civil War-era tea party was like in the White House.
Also, a new tea blend called the Obama Tea, which has been developed by tea masters in honor of our new president, will be discussed.
Handouts will be provided.
Cost is $2.00 per person.
The class is Friday, Feb. 20 at 10 a.m. at Great Debate Bookstore in the Maine Center, 6th and Maine, Quincy.
Reservations are required; contact Susan Asher at asherte@yahoo.com or call 217-885-3049.
