(Keokuk, IA) Working with Spay Day USA and in an effort to reduce the large numbers of cat and dog births during the spring and summer months, Friends of Keokuk Animal Services is holding its "2009 Cat and Dog Spay/Neuter Special."

Between February 1st and March 1st it will be offering $10 cat spays and neuters with $20 vaccinations.

Spays and neuters for dogs are $35 including vaccinations.

These services are being offered to the low-income public.

KHQA briefly spoke with Jean Meyer of FOKAS about the program.

She said all of the spots are currently filled for the spays and neuters, but people are still encouraged to fill out an application form.

The form will ask questions about income and the animal.
