Rob Ebbing takes over duties on March 1

QUINCY, IL -- After almost two months of searching and more than 30 resumes, the board of directors for the Oakley-Lindsay Center has chosen a new executive director.

Rob Ebbing will take over for Lee Osborn, who's been serving as interim director since mid-December.

Ebbing is a Quincy native and has been working for Kirlin's as the advertising director and he said he's sad to leave his previous job of 23 years.

He plans to meet with the board first thing to find out what direction they want the civic center to go.

Ebbing said he wasn't even looking for a job.

"It was one of those days when I was flipping through the newspaper and I saw the ad and my thoughts were I love working and volunteering for Quincy in different capacities so thought that would kind of be interesting. It would be fun to get paid for what I like doing," Ebbing said.

Ebbing takes over on March 1.
