QUINCY, Ill. - Since Wednesday of this week, the C.A.R.S. group from Quincy High School has raised awareness about safe driving among the student body.

The awareness week concluded on Friday with an all-day safety fair.

The Quincy Fire Department demonstrated the jaws of life in front of a group of fascinated students.

The Illinois State Police showed the students what happens to a person in a rollover accident.

The students also got a chance to put on some "drunk goggles"  to see how impaired they would be.

C.A.R.S stands for Caring About Riding Safely.

The group decided to focus on driving safety because it's an issue that has affected the lives of many students from the school.

The C.A.R.S. group teamed up with Operation Team Safe Driving, All State Insurance and several community groups to put on the fair.
