Game cancelled, school evacuated

MEMPHIS, MO -- School officials at Scotland County in northeast Missouri had to evacuate a high school basketball game Tuesday after a reported bomb threat.

Scotland County was playing Clark County, but during the second quarter, shortly before 8 p.m., the principal announced that everyone would have to leave the building.

Since it takes hours to scan the school, officials decided to call the game off.

Law enforcement blocked off a two-block perimeter around the school.

Tuesday's game as a highly anticipated one, so the gym was packed. KMEM radio out of Memphis, Missouri was at that game.

The news director at that station told us that everyone handled the evacuation in a very orderly fashion.

KMEM told us officials are trying to access a bomb-sniffing dog to check out the area.
