House bill 1027 could bring $1.3 billion to Illinois hospitals
(Springfield, Ill.) Illinois State Senator John Sullivan announced a short term borrowing plan that will allow hospitals across the state to get millions of dollars in federal funds.
House Bill 1027, also known as the Inter-fund Borrowing Act of 2009 allows hospitals to recapture taxes paid under the Hospital Assessment Plan that was passed last year.
If the bill is signed into law, Illinois Hospitals would receive about $1.3 billion a year.
