Bomb squad removed device safely

Macomb, IL-- Macomb police are trying to figure out who placed an improvised explosive device or I.E.D outside a bar.

The device was found at the Change of Pace bar at 301 N. Campbell Street in Macomb Saturday morning near the beer garden.  The Secretary of State Police Bomb Squad from Springfield, IL was called in. The squad determined that the I.E.D was active an had not been detonated.

It was taken to a secure location and destroyed. The Secretary of State Police, the Macomb Police Department, and the ATF are investigating this incident.
