Faces two counts of 2nd degree murder

MONTICELLO, MO -- The man accused of killing his wife and 5-month-old son in LaGrange last month appeared in court for the first time Monday afternoon.

Christopher Piersee was arraigned in a Lewis County courtroom, where he was charged with two counts of second degree murder.

He's accused of killing 21-year-old Patricia or "Tish" Yarbrough -Piersee and their 5 month-old son, Landon.

In the courtroom today, the judge read that Yarbrough -Piersee was shot to death, while the baby died from a blow to the head.

Christopher Piersee was being held in a Missouri Department of Corrections facility for evaluation.

His preliminary hearing has been set for April 21st.

Piersee could get 30 years or life in prison if convicted.
