State police launch website targeting Internet crime

SPRINGFIELD, IL (AP) -- The Illinois State Police have launched a new website meant to help fight Internet crime.

The site offers tips on avoiding Internet crimes, such as identity theft and cyber-stalking.

It also includes a page for reporting Internet crimes and answers common questions about the reporting process.

Visitors will find links to websites that provide information on avoiding computer viruses or that debunk common Internet rumors.
