Bars and taverns all over Quincy were full this morning as folks kicked off the morning hours celebrating St. Patrick's Day.
Jed's Brewhouse opened to partiers bright and early at 5:05a.m.
Owners say more than 150 folks turned out for festivities and Irish treats ranging from green beer to corned beef and cabbage.
It's the fourth year for Jed's Brewhouse's celebration, following a tradition began by Larry's Tavern for more than 20 years.
We talked with several revelers to find out why they rolled out of bed for a tavern call during the wee hours of the morning.
Carol Shafer said, " It's a national holiday here at Jed's. My friend flew in from South Carolina to be here this morning at 5:05am."
Kenny Franks said, "We're having a great time. We love St. Patrick's Day."
Charlie Vogel said, "I think its great to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. I've been in a lot of bars and seen the sun go down. It's great to be here to watch the sun come up."
Meanwhile Bitters Well in Quincy opened up to revelers at seven this morning. Folks there downed green beer and enjoyed party games.
Bartenders say they enjoyed a steady crowd all day.
