No budget cut talk for March 18th
(Quincy, Ill.) We heard there was some confusion about what's going to happen at Quincy's School Board March 18th meeting, so we went to Superintendent Lonny Lemon to clear it up and get the facts for this KHQA Fact Finder Report. The budget reduction plan is not on the agenda for the meeting on March 18th. That plan will be approved at the board meeting next Wednesday March 25th. The budget reduction plan will be made official and all position cuts will be revealed to the public April 1st. The agenda for the 18th included regular business such as curriculum and a policy committee update.
"We will probably review the plan and see if we need any tweeks in executive session again," said Lemon, "but I think for the most part the plan is pretty much done. They've looked at it twice and they're may be some slight tweeking tonight, I really don't expect many changes at this point."
We also spoke with Lemon about the I-S-A-T tests that were just completed in the elementary schools. He said the state monitored the district this year and told the school district that everything was "text book perfect."
