BURLINGTON, Iowa (AP) - Attorneys in the case of a Burlington man accused of strangling his ex-wife and setting her house on fire are tasked with coming up with a new date for a change of venue hearing.

Dennis Richards is charged with second-degree murder and second-degree arson in the death of Cyd Richards on Jan. 4. The couple divorced in 2007 but were planning to remarry.  Richards' attorney has argued that the case should be moved because of pretrial publicity.

Prosecutors have resisted saying news stories published about the case are not inflammatory.  A hearing on the motion to move the trial was scheduled for  Monday, but the court has given the attorneys until the end of the month to decide on a new date.
