City Council approves increases

(Macomb, Ill.)  Residents in Macomb will soon see an increase in their utility bills.

The Macomb City Council approved a water and sewer rate increase last week.

The new water rate is $3.79 per 100 cubic feet, that is a 20-percent increase.

For a 2 person family the city council estimated a monthly water bill would be about $18.70.

That bill is estimated at $37.40 for a 4 person family.

The new sewer rate is $2.41 per 100-cubic feet, which is a 10% increase.

The new rates will go into affect May 1st, 2009.
