Simpson's tenure, expanding and updating facilities on same track

This weekend marks the 10-year anniversary of Dr. Bill Simpson as the president of John Wood Community College.

During his time he has been at the head of major growth at the college. The college has won several awards and put in state-of-the-art internet connected classrooms.

Dr. Simpson says it was the chance to lead a brand new facility that helped draw him to John Wood.

He said most community colleges were built in the 70's and it was a rare opportunity to get in on the ground floor of John Wood's expansion.

Simpson is the third president of the school and the second longest serving current college president in our area.
