Twenty dogs transported to Milwaukee in search of new homes

While most of us were still asleep this morning, some of Quincy's four-legged residents were getting ready to take a long trip.

The Quincy Humane Society in partnership with PetSmart are part of program that gives these dogs a better chance at adoption.

About 20 dogs and puppies were transported in a state-of-the-art truck to the humane society in Milwaukee, Wisc., where they will have a better chance to find loving homes.

There is a bigger pool of people to draw from and the dogs will have a better chance at getting a new home.

Because of space concerns the Quincy Humane Society has been forced to turn away dogs that were brought to it.

So they hope that this program will be big benefit to Adams County.
