Quincy, IL--Michelle Tournear is a local Christian author.

Tournear's been writing books since the summer of 2005.  She writes Christian Romance novels.  Those books include Promise of the Heart and Aqua Blue.  The Payson Elementary school teacher told us she feels inspired by God to write books that are not only wholesome, but enjoyable.

Tournear says she hopes to send a message of purity through her books, something she feels has been forgotten about in today's society.

"When our country and society was based on religious freedoms, that's where we came from, how far society has come in and given us, especially young women a different perspective...God still wants that today. He still wants men and women to value themselves enough to wait until marriage," Tournear explained.

Tournear is working on the last 2 books in her Promise of the Heart series.  Tournear will be featured with other local authors at Great Debate Book Store in Quincy on April 16 from 5pm to 8pm.
