Asking for input from local businesses
Missouri Kit Bond made an afternoon stop in Hannibal to visit with some business and the Chamber of Commerce.
He was listening to the concerns of business owners, both large and small, about their thoughts on President Obama's budget plan.
Bond says he feels that plan spends, borrows, and taxes too much.
He hopes to gather good input from the businesses to take back to Washington.
"I want to be able to tell my collegues in the Senate what the people of Missouri think about it and see if I can win some votes from the other side," says Bond.
Bond also feels the budget, if passed the way it is, will double the national debt in five years, and triple it in ten.
He says that's too much debt to leave our kids and grandkids.
