JEFFERSON CITY, MO. (AP) -- The Teamsters have announced they are supporting Secretary of State Robin Carnahan in her bid for the U.S. Senate in 2010.
Teamsters President Jimmy Hoffa plans to announce the labor union's support Friday in Kansas City.
A news release regarding the announcement cited Carnahan's work to combat investment fraud and her margin of victory when she was re-elected as secretary of state.
The only other announced candidate in the Senate race is Republican congressman Roy Blunt. Former Republican state Treasurer Sarah Steelman has also said she is considering the race.
