More women are suffering from insomnia
Most women aren't spending enough time asleep according to an annual poll that looks at how much shut-eye Americans are getting.
Sixty-seven percent of women say they frequently experience a sleep problem. Another 43 percent say daytime sleepiness interferes with daily activities. And almost 3 out of 4 moms report having symptoms of insomnia on a regular basis.
Vice President Cheney has been diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis, a condition that affects millions of Americans. DVT is connected to air travel because sitting for long periods of time can increase the risk of blood clots forming in the legs. Mr. Cheney recently returned from a trip to Asia. Doctors are treating the Vice President with blood thinners; he plans to maintain a regular schedule.
Obesity may cause girls to reach puberty faster. A new study found girls who were overweight early on in childhood had a high chance of starting puberty as early as age nine. Authors of the study say U.S. girls are entering puberty at younger ages now than 30 years ago. Over the same time childhood obesity has been on the rise.
