Walter's "spiral saver'' is semifinalist for Staples contest

A Camp Point teenager is a semifinalist in the national "Staples Invention Quest Kids Contest."

Isaac Walter recently traveled to the Staples headquarters in Massachusetts to present his invention to judges. It's called the "spiral saver."

It's basically a cover for the spiral wire on a notebook; that way it doesn't catch on your clothes or other notebooks.

If chosen as a finalist, Isaac will have the chance to win the grand prize of $25,000 and royalties off his invention if it's created and sold in Staples stores.
